Career
Hello, my name is Robbie Ray and I am a nationally and internationally board-certified Orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon. I am double fellowship trained in Sydney, Australia and Toronto, Canada.
I offer a specialist service based solely on the diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle problems.
I am passionate about foot and ankle surgery, I have published over 80 research articles and book chapters in the field and I am regularly invited to lecture and teach at courses and conferences around the world.
However, my primary passion is my patients and by taking the time to fully assess the underlying problems leading to foot and ankle pain, I can successfully manage many conditions with a bespoke personalised non-surgical treatment plan.
If surgery is required, I am an expert in keyhole and minimally invasive techniques.
My areas of specific expertise are bunions, big toe pain and problems with the smaller toes, sports injuries around the foot and ankle, flatfoot (dropped arches) and heel pain.
My NHS practice was initially as a Consultant at the world renowned St George’s Hospital major trauma centre. I then moved my NHS practice to King’s College Hospital Foundation Trust to develop and modernise the foot and ankle service at Orpington and the surrounding region.
My private practice was initially based around south east London and west Kent. In 2025, I was invited to join the London Orthopaedic Clinic and can now bring the same patient focussed, conservative when possible, minimally invasive when neccesary ethos to patients in central London.
I live in Bromley with my wife and young family. When I am not working, I enjoy lifting weights, cooking and spending quality time with my family.

He specialises in keyhole and minimally invasive surgery and has a particular interest in keyhole bunion surgery, big toe pain, lesser toe problems, dropped arches, ankle sprains, achilles ruptures, heel pain and fractures around the foot and ankle.
