Mr. Sean Curry MB BS FRCS (Tr & Orth)
Hip and Knee Specialist
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon
Mr. Sean Curry is a Consultant Orthopaedic and
Trauma Surgeon specialising in knee and hip
problems as well as treating a variety of fractures.
During my post-grad training, I worked at various hospitals
throughout London, including Great Ormond Street and
The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, and I was lucky
enough to go on two fellowships to Australia, where I
worked with Australia's top knee surgeons."
"On my return to the UK, I finished my training at The Royal
London Hospital before moving to a consultant post at The
Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. In 2002, I was appointed
Orthopaedic Consultant to St Bart's and The Royal London
Hospitals. "
“The practicality and variety of orthopaedics attracted
me. Also, I was doing a lot of sport at the time and I
could clearly see the benefits good orthopaedic care
could bring to sportsmen and sportswomen.”
“I chose this area of orthopaedics as it's almost always
possible to make people better. Patients come to me with
a problem, I offer them a solution and they return home
happy, with their problem solved or at least on the way
to being solved.”
"Communication. My patients have a high satisfaction
level because I communicate with them. We discuss all
the options so they can decide what they want to happen
and then I let them know what's going on every step of
the way.
"
"Also, as I used to play a lot of rugby, I know from
personal experience how sportsmen and sportswomen
think and how different their rehabilitation needs can
be from other people's rehabilitation needs."
“My wife and I have four children under the age of five
so they take up most of our free time. And, although I
no longer play rugby, I still enjoy spectating.”
