Career to Date
Dr Ponsford qualified with first class honours, trained in Neurology in Oxford and Neurophysiology from the National Hospital, Queen Square, London and West Midlands teaching hospitals (Queen Elizabeth Hospital and University Hospital Coventry).
She gained her MD from UCL (2000) on rare peripheral neuropathy. Her NHS consulting posts included Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at St Bartholomew’s & Royal London Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital before moving into the private sector in 2010.
Areas of interest:
- Peripheral nerve conditions (peripheral nerve entrapment,
generalized or patchy peripheral neuropathy)
- Radiculopathy (commonly from neck and back problems)
- Muscle disease
